Gifts of Healing

We are seriously looking at healing and for good reason. The idea seemed dictated by a series of wonderful turns within our group. Things like these;

Cancer completely remitted,

Hidden life-threatening health issues off-handedly discovered and dealt with in a timely way,

Complete liver failure written off by doctors received a new liver,

Another in congestive heart failure kept alive despite O2 levels that should have caused major injury;

all of this and more within our core group. How could we not pay attention? Really, it would be grossly dim on our part to ignore all this.

Then, we took a look at who all comes to our group. The number of us with special healing gifts stood out in bold print. Here’s the quick list;

The Prayer of Faith; see 1Corinthians 12:9

Soul Wounds expertise; an M.D. of Psychiatry and author of a book on the subject

Naturopathy focused on herbs; see Genesis 1:27,30 & Revelation 22:1,2

Essential Oils as healing aids; see James 5:14

Healing Touch practitioners; see 2Timothy 1:6; Numbers 27:18,23; Deuteronomy 34:9; etc.

Why didn’t we realize this before? These particulars did not come up in a way we could see. The Lord brought all this together. What a wonderful subject.

Here’s what we have gleaned so far.

The Lord’s close attention, his manifest authority and power, his wonderful works all belong to his children. Take a look at Matthew 15:26 and/or Mark 7:27.

In the Hebrew language you have not learned something until you ‘do it’. Head knowledge, mental acknowledgement, being able to recite a verse or story does not cut it. The Lord desires for all people to be whole and complete. He gave us all means to be so. He is a good, good Father.

Dealing with our issues, our maladies, our diseases and trauma prepares us to become healers for others.

Tonight is Purim, the Hebrew celebration of Queen Esther’s intervention on behalf of the Hebrew people and the defeat of their mortal enemy, Haman. In that case a ‘decree of death’ was overturned on behalf of all the Hebrews in Babylon. It is time for all of us to overturn ‘the decree of death’ against us. The Lord offers all of this to his children. Why wouldn’t we accept?
